My soul
My soul has betrayed me
once more
despite my caution it has found another to occupy its days with longing
a new phanotom to drive me wild with desire.
My heart will not heed well learnt lessons
inevitably it finds one so easily snared a pretty face
is it a charming smile
and all my world shatters
no sane thought enters my mind without her image breaking it
my nights drag on sleepless, restless
as my thoughts turn ever to her.
Reason counsels caution but my heart and reason are estranged
so I close my eyes hoping to escape but she is there
I open my eyes hoping she is there and I know
I am lost.
